The second paragraph of your comment is today being repeated by Boko Haram's Abubakar Shakau. That is why I have always asked the question : Will Abubakar Shekau not be venerated as a hero of the Islamic north two hundred years down the line if Othman and his terrorist descendants are worshipped as such two hundred years after their own jihad? How can the northern Muslim see Shekau as a villain and Dan Fodiyo as a hero when they are one and the same? Is it not clear therefore that any Northern Muslim who hero worships Fodiyo will oppose the fight against Boko Haram?
